When I write a story, what do you immediately look for?
tentacles humanity and inhumanity, sometimes in the same character
'lyrical, tangible prose' is as close as I can come, but it doesn't encapsulate the signature quality I've only ever found in your writing and can't seem to articulate.

The coach might be sentient and might well have tentacles.

Emotional resonance and prose I want to roll around in.
